Please see the end of the article for his bio. “Why should I think of retirement if am only 29?” “Time enough to prepare when I hit 50.” “How can I prepare for retirement if I don’t know how things will be 40 years from now?” “Don’t worry, Social Security will take care of all my needs.” When I broach the subject of retirement with my high school seniors, they look at me as if I had just proved to them that senility had finally caught up with me. They have enough on their plates such as finding a job, paying for college, and finally hitting the road to independence. My only purpose when talking to them about the end of their professional life is to create some awareness that it is never too early to prepare for retirement. It …
